Cornwall is experiencing a housing crisis with as many as 21,000 people on the social housing waiting list. This crisis, the ongoing impact of the pandemic, and increases in the cost of living are having detrimental effects on the health and wellbeing of people around the county. The Dockyard Collective seeks to provide respite and support to help people in Cornwall rebuild their lives and grow resilience for the future.
We are a Christian organisation motivated by our faith to see people experience life to the full. We believe everyone should have access to a safe place they can call home, healthy relationships and an environment that enables them to thrive and reach their potential. We are bringing local churches together to journey with those facing tough times to find hope for the future.
Sam is our Youth and Families Worker and Erica leads our community work in Truro, Cornwall. We also have a team of volunteers and an advisory group offering their expertise in supported housing, church leadership, and work with vulnerable people. We are currently gathering volunteers and churches to support our initiatives through giving and prayer.
